This is a perfect first project to master the fundamental stitches of crochet and build your crochet knowledge. In this four-session class, you will learn crochet terminology, how to read a basic crochet pattern, how to hold your hook and yarn, the chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet stitches. You will be making a scarf to practice these stitches, which develops muscle memory. Plus, you will be taught tips and tricks to keep your crochet stitches straight and looking great.

If you admire the beautiful squishy, double thick stitching of two-color brioche knitting but, have found it daunting, then Brioche Boot Camp is for you! This class will focus on practicing the fundamental techniques of Brioche. You will learn how to BRK-brioche knit, BRP-brioche purl, how and when to slide your work, or turn it, and much more. There will be SLST-slipped stitches and YO-Yarn Overs too! We will also explore fixing brioche mistakes. Basic knitting skills are required: Cast on, Knit & Purl and BO bind off. So come join us and demystify the Brioche technique and take your next step that that will make knitting brioche much more attainable. Class will use the book, Brioche Knitting Workshop by Lavanya Patricella as the textbook. We will pick one of the projects in the book and work on that as well as working on swatches.

Many of you have admired the Ocean Moon Shawl on display in the shop. So, if you are ready to wrap yourself in the night sky then come join us and knit your very own Ocean Moon. There are two designs to choose from. One has the phases of the moon, while the other gives you the option to create star constellations. Basic knitting skills are required: Long tail cast on, Knit, and Purl stitches. You will learn the tips and tricks to master intarsia, I-cord edge, eyelets, color work charts & lace pattern charts in this dreamy moon phase design. Alicia will be there to help you through every phase of the moons. If you would like help coordinating your colors, please stop by the shop and we will be happy to help you with color selection. Choose your Ocean colors from the many lines of hand dyed yarns we carry Bad Sheep, Corn Bread & Honey, Mad Tosh, as well as a lovely selection of Malabrigo fingering yarn we have on hand. We also have lots Practically Perfect Fingering mini skeins from Emma’s Yarns you can use in the ocean waves section of this shawl!

Crochet has it's own language within the English language and this class is the next step to develop confident crochet skills after taking Crochet 101. You've been thinking of buying a crochet pattern, yet one thing stops you, how to read them? If they just don't make sense, well then, this class is for you! In this class you will level up your crochet knowledge allowing you to confidently tackle crochet patterns found in books, magazines or on the website Ravelry.com . In this four-part class you will learn to read a written or charted crochet pattern. Learn the difference between US and UK terminology and crochet symbols. The instructor will be teaching from a pattern by Joanne Scrase called the Humbug Scarf. Basic crochet knowledge required: chaining, single crochet and double crochet. You will learn the puff stitch, and much more!

Want to learn a new craft this year? Learn basic knitting skills in this new & improved four session introduction class. You will learn the basics of knitting including cast on, cast off, the knit stich, and the purl stitch and simple pattern reading. Use these basic stitches to make a beautiful textured scarf. You will also learn to read a simple knitting pattern. Class meets every other week so that you will have time to do homework in-between class meetings. So, get ready, get set, let’s go!
