Fatty Lumpkin The African Flower Pony - In Shop Only
African Flower technique animals are super fun to make, and we just couldn't stop at the Frog Prince or Smaug the dragon. It is with great glee that we present to you the wonderful Fatty Lumpkin! Come crochet your very own Fatty Lumpkin, with or without Pegasus wings, unicorn horn both are optional. Completed size is approximately 10.5” from top of ears to feet and 11” from nose to tail. You will learn the African flower technique crochet method, the join as you go crochet construction, how to crochet in the round. We will learn how to make hexagons to create a basic stuffed animal construction. And of course we need to learn how to stuff this fatty lumpkin. Prerequisites are basic crochet knowledge stitches such as chaining, slip stitch, single, double, and treble crochet and also the basic knowledge of granny square construction. If you know how to crochet, but haven't done granny squares yet, please take advantage of the next granny square class on Sunday June 23rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, or contact us at the shop to schedule a private lesson to prepare you for this class.

(The more colors you get, the more pizzaz fatty lumpkin will have in his flower hexagons!!!)
The final weight of the project is 160g of yarn, that might help you decide on how much yarn you want to horde.
This is a great time to use mini skeins!
Size 0 (1.75mm)crochet hook

Removable stitch markers
1 bag of poly fill stuffing (or cotton stuffing)
Two 14mm safety eyes
Or black embroidery thread for embroidered eyes.
