Little Cotton Rabbits, Deer Pattern Supplement

These whimsical knitted deer girl or boy doll are from Little Cotton Rabbits and are a supplement pattern to Little Cotton Rabbits, Boy Fox In A Star Spangled Sweater or Girl Fox In A Flowered Frock. Come join us and learn to knit the girl or boy or both deer dolls. This project is a delightful journey in knitted doll construction and doll clothing. Basic knitting knowledge required, such as casting on, knitting, and purling. You will learn right and left leaning increase stitches including M1R, M1L, M1, Knit left loop, Knit front loop, SSK, K2TOG, P2TOG, and P2TOG TBL. To knit these darling little deer you will need both Little Cotton Rabbit patterns: Boy Fox or Girl Fox and the Deer Supplement pattern. Finished size approximately 9” from tip of toes to top of head. Please read the Fox pattern of your choice completely before class. Stop by the shop and we will be happy to help you assemble the required materials.

DK, Worsted or Light Aran weight yarn, Malabrigo Rios, Mecha, or Cascade 220

Yarn A, Mid Brown (approx 77 yd)

Yarn B, Beige (approx 15 yd)

4 ply fingering weight yarn (approx 4 yd) in Dark Brown for the antlers

4 ply fingering weight yarn in two contrasting colors for the sweater, yarn C and D

4 ply fingering weight yarn in a dark color for the shorts, yarn E

Scraps of Black yarn, worsted or DK for the eyes and facial features

Toy stuffing/ Polyfill

A tiny button

Knitting needles: a pair each US 2.5 (3mm) straight,

US 2 (2.75 mm) straight

Two US 2 (2.75mm) sets DPN double pointed needles

Either Boy Fox in a Star Spangled Sweater pattern or Girl Fox in a Flowered Frock pattern by Julie Williams/Little Cotton Rabbits
