Holi Party KAL

Holi Party is a quick little pullover that is worked from the top-down in an absolutely seamless way. It calls for chunky yarn, which knits up in a breeze. Don’t be surprised if you finish this project in a couple of days, it is that quick. The yoke is knit in the round, with raglan shaping for the sleeves. There are no buttonholes in this sweater: the buttons are sewn to both flaps to hold them together.

Whether you are looking for your first sweater pattern, if you are too anxious to work on sweaters with lighter weight yarns, if you are looking for instant gratification after working on a very long project or if you just needed to get your knitting mojo back, Holi Party is the perfect project for you!

Buy the pattern at The Altered Stitch and get the yarn for 10% off!

Morning Mist Top

Morning Mist is a comfy but elegant spring top featuring a textured lace panel on a stockinette body. Cotton Comfort by Green Mountain Spinnery is a wonderful cotton wool blend yarn that is warm yet breathable, making a perfect garment to take you into the warmer, or cooler months. I love lace back shirts, but chose a pattern that wasn’t too open to avoid seeing straps underneath. The simple drop-shoulder body creates its own cap sleeves, making for quick knitting, and comfortable wearing. (Totally seamless!)

*This pattern is available on Ravelry but is not available through the in-store buying program.  Purchase your pattern ahead of time or come in and we'll help you log in to your account so you can purchase it.

*Yarn for this Knit A-Long must be purchased at The Altered Stitch.

Far Into the Forest Socks KAL

If you feel like dusting off your stranded knitting skills, this is the KAL for you!

Please note: This is NOT a beginner level pattern.  This is a Knit A-Long...not a class, so all though we will all be helping each other through the pattern, you must already possess the skills listed in the "What To Know Before You Begin" section below:)

Construction Notes
Two mirrored socks worked toe to cuff in two colors. Gussets at sides, turned heel worked with no-wrap short rows, and heel flap. Stranded patterns (with numerous increases and decreases) worked from charts with stitch key. Links to photo tutorials are provided in the pattern and below for techniques used.

What to know before you begin
Stranded knitting, basic sock construction, working in the round on double-point or circular needles, and reading charts. No grafting or picking up stitches necessary.

Friday Nite KAL - Boxy

Boxy by Joji Locatelli

Boxy is a very simple modern sweater, with a very wide body and skinny sleeves. Worked with a lightweight yarn it is very flattering, drapey and stylish! A little short row section in the shoulders adds an interesting texture to the sleeves. Directions are given to make a seamless version (worked in the round) or a seamed version (worked back and forth) of the body. The sleeves and the neckband are worked seamlessly in the round in both versions.

Several of our customers requested this as a KAL because knitting together is always more fun!!!
