Join us for the opening weekend of the Nox Yarn Co trunk show, December 15th-January 2nd!! Shop beautiful yarns for a limited time only from this talented, California-based dyer.  "Nox Yarn co. is a small yarn dyeing company located in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. All yarn is dyed by me, Danielle Ahles, in a hobbit-hole of a studio surrounded by greenery.  My colorways are inspired by nature, mythology and general nerdery (be it internet-related or influenced by my favorite books and movies!). As an artist, I generally prefer to work on paper and canvas, often using only black ink for my illustrations and prints - dyeing yarn has been a way for me to explore color in a new and tactile medium, and I adore the process (and the results!)."

In loving memory of Leah SK Davidson...

Our dear friend, Leah SK Davidson, owner of The Altered Stitch and founder of The Fibre Collective, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, October 29th, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Her dream was to cultivate an environment to support independent fiber artists and share their artistry with the community.  Her vision was far greater than a single event, a single idea, or for the benefit of just one, it was to benefit the independent dyer and to help struggling artists follow their dreams.  As her team, we continue to carry out her vision and goals for The Fibre Collective, and work to fully realize her vision for The Fiber Community.

The Fibre Collective Initiative aims to provide a space for independent fiber artists from around the world to grow their businesses and share their talent.  Leah's vision was to create a platform to support these artists, to help them get discovered, and to create a space for consumers to go to find new and exciting artists.

Donations to The Fibre Collective Initiative will go to help fund The Fibre Collective in terms of advertising, transportation costs, entrance/booth fees, and small wholesale orders to a few select dyers.  The Fibre Collective Initiative is managed as a completely separate entity from The Altered Stitch (which handles the sales of all yarn/fiber), and proceeds from the sale of any yarn/fiber purchased by The Fibre Collective Initiative, will be re-invested in The Fibre Collective for future dyers.
