A weekly knit together (knit-along) to fill your gorgeous California summer days with a refreshing stitch sampler project. Ever want to work on your Brioche technique? Improve your crochet skills? Explore the beauty of colorwork? Not only will you get to explore the various methods and techniques for both crochet and knitting, but by the end of those long August days, you will have enough squares to make a blanket or two in preparation for the ever fast approaching holiday season!
Each week we will provide you with two patterns, one crochet and one knit, to create a 6x6 inch square which we will work on in class. You will then be given both patterns to take home should you decide to create more or work on the square of the alternate technique before our next meeting. Once we have accumulated enough squares, we will begin to connect them into a vibrant blanket.
The best part about this project is that we encourage you to expand your comfort zone to incorporate BOTH crochet and knitting – the product of which will create one of a kind and a texturally captivating piece of fiber art that is unique to you. There is no required yarn weight, no required needle or hook sizes; we will see where your yarn and our patterns take us.
